Iceland equal pay law comes into effect in bid to close gender gap

Great news in Iceland about equality in gender gap, to prove they are paying men and women equally. The legislation applies to employers with 25 or more staff, and requires businesses to obtain equal pay certification from accredited auditors.

The ninth “Mediterranean Women Enterpreneurs Forum” co-organized by AFAEMME (Association of Organisation of Mediterranean Businesswomen) with Barcelona Chambres of Commerce and ASCAME (Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry) in Medaweek Barcelona's frame, the Week of the Economic Leaders of the Mediterranean was passed last 24th November.

In the framework of the IX MEDA Women Entrepreneurs Forum which took place last November 24th in Barcelona, AFAEMME also celebrated its Annual Meeting. The participating members reviewed the Association's 2016 activity report and debated about upcoming initiatives and possible collaborations. This recently Annual Meeting, Afaemme's member approved nine new membership from Italy, France, Lebanon, Croatia, Tusinia, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt and Palestine.
