AFAEMME condemns the terrorist attacks on 17 August in Barcelona and Cambrils. The Association of Federations of Women Entrepreneurs of the Mediterranean condemns the shameful attacks of the terrorists carried out in the two Catalan cities of Barcelona and Cambrils, from our association we extend our deepest condolences to the families of the foreign victims and to the whole Spanish people, recovery of those wounded who are still hospitalized.

In the 15th anniversary of the MedaLogistics Summit, the Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) hosted the Mediterranean Transport & Logistics Summit within the fringes of the SIL2017. The two-day event was jointly organized with the Consorci of Barcelona, and supported by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Every year since 2003, the Meda Logistics Summit convenes experts, business representatives and high level policy figures from the sector in order to explore opportunities and address key priorities in the Mediterranean.

On the 10th Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders, the Mediterranean Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) has awarded the Mediterranean Prize to the president of the Association of Mediterranean Business Organizations (AFAEMME), María Helena de Felipe, for her contribution to the empowerment of women in the European region. Ascame awards each year the Mediterranean award to personalities, companies, foundations or entities whose actions have a positive impact on the development of the region and on the transmission of values.
