SUCESSFULL IX MEDAWOMEN ENTREPRENEUR FORUM BARCELONA 24th NOVEMBER
The "IX Mediterranean Women Entrepreneurs Forum" edition, co-organized by AFAEMME (The Federation of Organizations of Mediterranean Businesswomen) with the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and ASCAME (Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry) was held in the framework of the Week of the Economic Leaders of the Mediterranean last 24th November.
More than 200 businesswomen and representatives from 23 Mediterranean countries took part in this Women Entrepreneurs Forum of the Mediterranean in Barcelona. The main aims were, to enhance better economy in the region and the empowerment of the women in the access to the economic and financial decision marking positions, in order to promote the economic growth and the job creation in the region.

OPENING IX MEDAWOMEN ENTREPRENEUR FORUM
Institutional representatives participated in the Inaugural session. The IX MedaWomen Entrepreneur Forum was based on the obstacles that women have to start a business, how the role of women needs to be promoted in the labour market and also the giving opportunities of women for inclusive growth.

MEDITERRANEAN BUSINESS WOMEN LEADERS
Different woman leaders pointed out how women entrepreneurs are essential for the economic development and how gender diversity contributes to business sustainability.

HOW ARE SMALL BUSINESSES RUN BY WOMEN IMPROVING IN MEDITERRANEAN COUNTRIES?
Presidents and Member of Boards from 17th Mediterranean countries tooked part at the roundtable on the second panel to talk about how businesses led by women are advancing in their respective regions.

MEDITERRANEAN PROGRAMS & OPPORTUNITIES FOR BUSINESSWOMEN
Representatives from several organisations in projects labelled by UPM, analyzed the situation of Euro Mediterranean women, opportunities and conclusions, in "Mediterranean Programs & Opportunities for Businesswomen"

AFAEMME'S GENERAL MEETING
In the framework of the IX MEDA Women Entrepreneurs Forum on 24th November in Barcelona, AFAEMME had its Annual Meeting. The participating members reviewed the Association's 2016 activity report and debated about upcoming initiatives and possible collaborations. This recently Annual Meeting, Afaemme's member approved nine new membership from Italy, France, Lebanon, Croatia, Tusinia, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt and Palestine.

AFAEMME'S PRESIDENT PARTICIPATES AT EUROMED SUMMIT
Maria Helena de Felipe, AFAEMME's President and member of the EESC (European Economic and Social Committee), presented the legal opinion on the economic rights at the EuroMed Summit, helded in Madrid on 13th and 14th December.

AFAEMME'S BOARD MEMBERS AT CARLES FERRER SALAT AWARDS ORGANIZED IN FOMENT DEL TREBALL
Last 22th November in Foment del Treball headquarter, Maria Helena de Felipe, Afaemme's President, and Beatriz Fernandez Tubau, Afaemme's General Secretary attended prizes Carles Ferrer Salat Awards 2017, with the participation of the Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy.

ASMÂA MORINE, AFAEMME'S VICE- PRESIDENT, PARTICIPATE AT EURO-MEDITERRANEAN REGIONAL ADVOCACY DIALOGUE
Asmâa Morine, Vice- President of AFAEMME and President of AFEM, took part in the Advocacy Working Group, favoring economic empowerment, in the Euro-Mediterranean Regional Advocacy Dialogue held in Casablanca from 24 to 26 October organized by IEMED.

Last 10 th October in Brussels, executive committee from Fepime, Maria Helena de Felipe as President, and Beatriz Fernández-Tubau as Vice-President, had a meeting with George Dassis, President of EESC (European Economic and Social Committee).
