Women in Turkey

By taking the occasion of having a Turkish trainee, AFAEMME is going to offer some insights about the situation of women in Turkey by publishing a series of news items about this topic. This is the second post of this series. We hope you enjoy it! 

Women raising their voices in Turkey 

In Turkey, women assassination have increased dramatically especially in the last few years. Women came together in İzmir, the West side of Turkey, to protest reduced punishments given to the murderers of women victims. From some women victims’ parents to members of some women organizations and men, more than 100 people attended to the protest to make their voice be heard and support deterrent punishments to protect women.
