Meeting with Dr. Drake, Director of Promotion of SMEs competitiveness at DG Enterprise and Industry, European Commission

AFAEMME has participated, as representative of FEPIME (the Catalan SME employers organisation) in a meeting of the major Catalan economic actors with Dr. Joanna Drake, Director of Promotion of SMEs competitiveness at the DG Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission.

The main points of the meeting with regard to SMEs in Europe were that:

• It is crucial to strengthen innovation
• There is a lack of specific skills for entrepreneurs which have to be acquired in order to have successful SMEs
• There is a need of SMEs growth
