The conference, organized in partnership between Egypt and the European Commission, comes shortly after the signing of the Joint Declaration on The Strategic Comprehensive Partnership between Egypt and the EU in March. During the signing ceremony, the EU pledged an aid and investment package worth €7.4 billion ($8.1 billion) for Egypt and an improvement in the relationship with Egypt. The agreement upgrades the EU's relationship with Egypt to a "strategic partnership". This agreement will boost cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, trade and increase investment in infrastructure and security. Similarly, the deal includes a package of grants, loans, and other funding over the next three years to support the Egyptian economy. The proposed funding includes €5 billion in concessional loans and €1.8 billion in investments, according to a summary published by the EU. Another €600 million would be provided in grants. The conference, themed ‘Unlocking Egypt’s Advantages in a Fast-Changing World- aims to attract foreign and domestic investments, specifically exploring and facilitating investment partnerships between the European Union and Egypt in critical sectors contributing to economic development and sustainability. In addition, high-level sessions and dialogues will enrich discussions focused on several key topics, including financial vehicles for investment, technology and entrepreneurship, sustainable transition (green & circular economy), as well as food and water security. Congratulations to all speakers and organizers! #egypt #change #investments #green #economy #water #security
