AFAEMME, part of the Jury for the Solidarity Awards for Equality 2016

The only awards recognizing gender equality and equal opportunities in Spain will be given in November 2016 to 5 selected candidates.
AFAEMME has been participating as part of the Jury in the Solidarity Awards for Equality (PREMIOS SOLIDARIOS A LA IGUALDAD MUJERES PARA EL DIALOGO Y LA EDUCACION). These are the only awards recognizing gender equality and equal opportunities in Spain and they are given to women, men, media, companies and institutions which have contributed to improving the situation of women in the world.
 
The Jury met on the 28th of June 2016 to take the final decision about the candidates and the awards themselves will be given at the X INTERNATIONAL CHARITY DINNER which will take place on the 25th of November 2016 at the Hotel Meliá Princesa de Madrid.  
 
The awards are:
 
  • “Women who change the world” for Ms. ANA MARÍA LLOPIS RIVAS, businesswomen and President of the Supermarkets DIA. Awarded because of her commitment to support women in decision-making and to promote the quota instrument.
  • “Man who supports women” for Mr. JOSÉ NIETO,  Chief Inspector of the National Police. Awarded for his efforts in fighting against women trafficking and for rescuing women and girls who suffered from sexual exploitation.
  • “Media supporting women” for the magazine MíA. Awarded because of being a platform for the fight against gender inequality and for disseminating the voice of important and interesting women in the economy and the society.
  • “Company supporting women” for GARRIGUES ABOGADOS (Lawyers). Awarded because of implementing innovative gender policies within the company to retain women, optimize time management and enhance the diversity.
  • “The institution which is most committed to women” for the NORWEGIAN EMBASSY IN SPAIN. Awarded because of its work managing the EEA Grants which support the fight for gender equality and work-life balance.
