First meeting of the Advisory Board of the Mediterranean Initiative for Jobs

The Mediterranean Initiative for Jobs has been designed by the UfM Secretariat as a regional initiative to help addressing the persisting challenge of high rates of unemployment in the Arab Mediterranean countries. The initiative seeks to replicate and up-scale private sector job creation projects and best practices.

The UfM has established an Advisory Board, assigned to identify valuable projects that address existing gaps in the region's labour markets and to coordinate and support the successful implementation of the initiative.

The first meeting of this Board took place on the 16th of May 2014, in Barcelona. It aimed at exchanging views on existing initiatives, on the challenges and successful experiences and on possible ways to render more effective and coordinated action across the range of available tools, programmes and policies in the Southern Mediterranean.
