Workshop on Green Women Entrepreneurship

Global Eco Forum - 25th October 2012, 15:00 to 16:30, Barcelona (Spain)

AFAEMME is going to organize a workshop on Green Women Entrepreneurship in the framework of the Global Eco Forum 2012, an international multi-stakeholders event for opinion leaders and agents of change towards sustainability in the Euro-Mediterranean Region which is going to take place next 25th and 26th of October.

The fifth edition of the Global Eco Forum takes place in the framework of consolidated and interconnected environmental, social and economic crisis. On a social perspective, massive protests around the world are demanding more horizontal, transparent and participative decision making and accountability process. From an economic point of view, despite the enormous support to the financial system, most of the industrialized countries are suffering a permanent structural deficit with a multiplication of the unemployment rate and reduction of welfare state benefits.

In this context the Mediterranean region appears as a representation, on a small scale, of rising opportunities and challenges towards global sustainability.

The Global Eco Forum 2012 continues to explore and reflect on these complex issues and try to imagine novel solutions based on collaboration and partnerships between different sectors of society: NGO, scientists, academics, businesses and public bodies.

In this framework, AFAEMME organizes a Workshop/Round Table with international experts on the promotion of Green Entrepreneurship as a tool for employing and empowering women: Mrs. Soukeina Bouraoui, Funder of the International Women Forum of the Mediterranean and executive director of CAWTAR; Mrs. Eszter Vitorino Füleky, Manager for Governmental Relations at the Global Reporting Initiative; Mr. Isidre Sala, International Cooperation Manager at ACC1Ó; and Mrs. de Felipe, AFAEMME’s President.

The workshop will be chaired by Mrs. Luisa Nenci, environmental economist and sustainability advisor, and it will take place on the 25th, from 15:00 to 16:30.
