Women in Leadership Conference

Nairobi (Kenya), 17th-18th October 2012

AFAEMME supports as a partner organisation the Women in Leadership Conference, which is organized by Forward Networking and which will take place next 17th and 18th of October in Nairobi (Kenya).

The aim of the Women in Leadership conference is to raise awareness of the multi -faceted challenges women face across the African continent and beyond. In doing so, the conference aims to highlight the many inspirational stories of successful women in leadership while encouraging further dialogue on women´s issues and empowerment.

As Mrs. Letty Chiwara, UN Women Chief of Africa states, women are important drivers in Africa´s economy and should be given as many opportunities as possible to succeed. Women´s leadership in Africa needs clear plans and priorities to overcome structural problems while focusing on economic growth.
