Distrimed 2. "aimed to raise awareness and provide support to a group of women in Retail, E-commerce and the creation of franchise, as well as increasing the awareness of financial institutions about the importance of supporting female entrepreneurship in innovation, and the establishment of new retail concepts by exploiting niches and Mediterranean specificities with a view to internationalization.

The challenges related to these innovative distribution strategies, including for the accompanying structures (financial organisations, legal advisors, etc.), were met trough the organisation of trainings, individual coaching, participation to specific retail fairs so as turning a few carefully selected companies into success stories which shed light on new opportunities for many in the South of the Mediterranean.

Last February 4th 2011 five businesswomen from the Maghreb (Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia) were exposing their interior decorating products and home accessories in Brussels, combining tradition and innovation in the framework of DISTRIMED 2.

The exhibition, titled "Maghreb colors", took place from February 6th to 8th 2011 in Brussels, allowing products from Southern Mediterranean countries to be introduced to European markets.
